It is an added feather into the crown of Surat Municipal Corporation as well as of Surat City itself to have an exclusively air conditioned Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay Indoor Stadium with the sitting capacity of 7000. It is first of its kind in the Western Region of India. The Stadium was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Keshubhai Patel and Mayor of Surat City Smt. Savita Sharda. It is well equipped with facilities for organizing all types of Indoor Games. The total cost of project was  24 Crores including the cost of electrification and air-conditioning.

The Stadium is a suitable place to organize assorts of National as well as International level indoor games such as Volley Ball, Table-Tennis, Gymnastics, Hand Ball, Boxing, Wrestling, Badminton, Basket Ball, Tennis etc. and can be hired for such sporting events. It possesses the central arena of 63 m x 33 m size, rooms for participants, commentators etc. and other essential facilities including provision of space for snack bar. This is also a convenient venue for cultural programs, music concerts, drama, fashion shows, seminars, conferences and so on and can be hired for the same also.
